Ponty engage the "Black Army"

Pontypridd go into their second summer warm up match, hosting near neighbours Llantrisant at Sardis Road on Friday evening 10^th August (7:15pm ko) hoping to build up some momentum into the forthcoming league campaign.

With a home win against Ystrad Rhondda already registered, Ponty will now face Division Two East side Llantrisant - the "Black Army" - and will be boosted by the return of a number of key players from holiday and injury.

The front row department which had been badly depleted has been enhanced by the addition of Scott Roberts, recovered from an ankle injury, and Pat Palmer and Chris Phillips back off leave.

Ynysybwl product Owen Jenkins is given a run on the wing having notched up two tries against Ystrad Rhondda, with another youngster Dafydd Davies from Cilfynydd given a chance to impress in the second row.

Carl Thomas makes his bow at scrum half following his return to Pontypridd, likewise flanker Ed Siggery who takes a place on the bench. Young centre Harry Davies is also amongst the replacements, lining up against his own club Llantrisant.
