Biography:

A product of Rhydyfelin RFC, Christopher Phillips came up through the club's junior ranks, winning international honours with Wales at under 16 level.

Having spent a season with Beddau Youth, Chris returned to Rhydyfelin in 2010 to play for the senior team, still eligible at youth level.

Considered as one of the best up and coming prop talents in the SWALEC leagues, Chris was invited to train with, and to play on permit for Pontypridd, making a senior Premiership debut in the away game at Newport.

As Ponty endured a spate of front row injuries, Chris was duly signed up to the senior squad mid season in November 2010.

Chris is employed as a mechanical technician / fitter.
