[BBCi] The prospects of peace in Welsh rugby took a step forward following a meeting between WRU group chief executive David Moffett and the Premiership clubs on Thursday morning.
Six of the eight clubs agreed on a plan for four regional entities split 50/50 between each of those involved to be entered into Celtic League and European competition next season.
They would be Swansea and Llanelli, Neath and Bridgend, Pontypridd and Cardiff, plus Newport and Ebbw Vale.
Two of the clubs, understood to be Cardiff and Llanelli, are taking the proposals back to their boards.
The plan will be put before the WRU board of directors on Thursday night.
Should the idea be approved, it will be presented to the Welsh Rugby Union's 239 member clubs at an EGM on 23 February.
Only the votes of that body can implement the proposed changes in the game, with a 75% majority needed.
