Dynamic flanker Darren Waters has been rewarded for his impressive performances in Pontypridd colours over the past two seasons with a call-up to play regional rugby with the Gwent Dragons.
Waters will join up with the Newport-based region at the end of the current campaign on a two year contract.
The Beddau product was drafted into the Ponty squad in the summer of 2009 and made a significant impact as a marauding openside flanker, becoming a huge favourite with the Sardis Road fans.
In doing so he was was typical of a local player given his opportunity with Pontypridd and who made the most of his chances in the competitive environment of the Welsh Premiership.
Waters certainly put in a great shift for Pontypridd over the past two seasons and will depart with a sincere vote of thanks from all at the club, and with best wishes for a successful future at regional level.
Darren Waters made 53 appearances for Pontypridd between 2009 and 2011, scoring 11 tries.
