Premiership round-up 07/01/12

There was no change at the top of the Principality Premiership as leaders Llandovery posted an emphatic home win over second placed club Aberavon.

The kicking of James Garland proved crucial for the Drovers, his personal tally of sixteen points from three penalties, a drop goal and two conversions underpinning their 31pts to 7 win.

Neath lost some momentum in the title chase as they succumbed to a 38pts to 19 defeat away at Carmarthen Quins, but Pontypridd making up recently lost ground by posting a six try, 38pts to 7 home win over bottom club Tonmawr.

Both Bridgend and Cross Keys consolidated their mid table status with valuable away wins. The Ravens took the verdict by 21pts to 39 at Bedwas, and Keys edging a Gwent derby against Pontypool by 22pts to 27.

Cardiff  enjoyed a bonus point win over Swansea at the Arms Park, running out as 35pts to 8 victors.
