No access to Taff Vale Park

The Taff Vale Park ground, which provides a home for the Pontypridd RFC Mini & Juniors, and recently has been utilized as a training facility by the senior squad, is currently forbidden territory.

An underground fire has been identified in part of the ground with major works to be undertaken by Rhondda Cynon Taf council to rectify the problem. Considerable excavation of the affected area will be required, to be back-filled with a heavy clay material. In the meantime there are potential hazards due to the excavation and the possibility of noxious gases being released.

As a result, Taff Vale Park will be a “no-go area” for all Pontypridd RFC squads until further notice, with work expected to be on-going for about two weeks.
