An intriguing photograph showing a rugby team from way back in the 1895 – 96 season has come to light, and has been passed on to Pontypridd RFC for identification. Can anyone help?
Is there anybody out there who can tell us anything about this photograph? It was found by former Ponty Rugby Chairman, Mike Edwards, in a house on the Common in Pontypridd, and shows a rugby team from the 1895-1896 season.
The photograph was taken by a company called “A & G Taylor, Photographers to the Queen”, with studios in Pontypridd and Cardiff, and was delivered to a Miss Porter of 42 The Avenue, Pontypridd. The only other clues to the identity of the team are the two gentlemen on the left and right of the photograph, who appear to be wearing Welsh international caps.
If you know anything about the team, the photographers, or Miss Porter, then please let us know by email: or via a message on the website forum.
