Mixed Fortunes in the Blues Junior Cup

Pontypridd enjoyed mixed fortunes in the quarter final rounds of the Blues Junior Cup, played on Sunday 28th March.

The Ponty under 11s marched into the semi final stage with a fine 28pts to 14 win over Cowbridge. Tries were scored by Sion Edwards, Matthew Wilmott (2) and Jac Smith, with Carl Blacker adding four conversions.

The Ponty under 14s went down to an agonisingly close defeat to St Joseph’s by 13pts to 12. All of the Ponty points came from the boot of Jarrod Evans.

Pontypridd RFC now have two teams representing the club in the semi finals of the Blues Juniors Cup, as the under 13s had previously booked their place with a comprehensive 54pts to 0 win over Rumney.
