Shane McIntosh came over to Pontypridd from his homeland in the King Country region of New Zealand.
The elder brother of Ponty's legendary no 8 Dale McIntosh, Shane showed the same physical attributes, but as a hard hitting centre. He also proved to be a potent attacking force for Pontypridd, scoring fifteen touchdowns in thirty-two appearances for the club.
Shane was a member of the SWALEC Cup winning squad of 1996, and later went on to play for Aberavon and Penygraig.
Shane took up a job as a police officer with the South Wales Constabulary.
