Don Jones was born in Llwynypia in the Rhondda, and was capped as a schoolboy for Wales. He went on to play for Cardiff College of Education (now UWIC) Treherbert and Neath.
Don served Pontypridd well as an openside flanker, scoring 23 tries for the club during his career.
Don was employed as a teacher.
