Jones, Alun

Alun Jones is a former head of Business Studies in a Mid Glamorgan comprehensive school, a former full time trade union official for the largest classroom teachers’ union in Wales and a former Welsh director for the largest Head Teachers and Deputies trade union in the UK.

A member of Pontypridd RFC since 1974, Alun joined the Supporters Club in 2000 and has served as its secretary since 2001, he is also the club’s voice on the local radio station GTFM’s weekly "Ponty Rugby" broadcasts.

Alun was active in the campaign to keep Valleys Rugby at the highest level during the restructuring of the game in Wales, and is also a “programme anorak” and a rugby memorabilia collector.
