[icWales] STEVE HANSEN and the Wales team don't leave for their tour Down Under for five weeks, but the New Zealander is already facing an injury crisis.
Classy Pontypridd centre Sonny Parker has re-injured the arm that kept him out of the Six Nations Championship, team-mate Gethin Jenkins turned his right ankle against Wasps on Friday night and a third member of Wales' Pontypridd boys, back rower Michael Owen, is sidelined with injured knee ligaments. None of the trio is expected to be seen in Ponty colours again this season.
"I'm really upset. I hate being injured and I hate not playing rugby," said a despondent Parker. "It is fractured about halfway through the bone - it's not a clean break, but perhaps that's better. I'll be in plaster for at least three weeks and then it's a question of how quickly I can play again."
