Bramwell shapes up to full fitness
Bramwell shapes up to full fitness

A long list of injured Pontypridd players are currently receiving treatment from the club’s medical staff, with varying degrees of response and success.

Long term absentee, centre Dafydd Lockyer is making excellent progress from his groin strain, and now looking at weeks rather than months to making a comeback. Fellow centre Gavin Dacey has suffered a slight hamstring strain, but should be fully recovered for the next game away at Swansea.

Outside half or centre Aaron Bramwell has suffered a jarred neck and shoulder but pending on the results of scans could also be back in the frame this week.

Amongst the forwards, prop Ken Knaggs injured a shoulder playing for the University of Glamorgan, but is responding well to treatment and hopeful of an imminent recovery. Lock Ryan Savage also damaged a shoulder in the away game at Birmingham last weekend, and will require further tests before the severity of the injury is known. Currently undergoing scans on a long standing back problem is fellow lock Chris Martenko.

Flanker Wayne O’Connor, making a comeback from a rib injury, suffered a jarred neck against Birmingham, but is all set to make good his recovery in time for the Swansea game. Fellow flanker Darren Waters will be out for a longer period of time, up to a month, with a broken toe.

Back training and making good progress from a long term shoulder dislocation is back rower Kristian Dacey, who could be back in contention within three weeks.
