A special welcome will be extended by Pontypridd RFC this coming Friday evening to photographer Max Feaver, who will be in attendance at the home league match against Aberavon.
Max is a mature student from the University of Kent and is currently undertaking a project focussing on the effects of professionalism on the traditional clubs and rugby communities of Wales.
His travels have taken him to locations across the South Wales Valleys, with the intention of collating his powerful images into an exhibition later in the year.
The Premiership tie between Pontypridd and Aberavon, two traditionally iconic Welsh clubs, will give Max an opportunity to capture the atmosphere of the event and of the local support through his lens.
In welcoming Max Feaver, Pontypridd RFC Media Officer Guto Davies said: “The project being undertaken by Max should strike a chord with the Ponty support.
“The current state of club rugby in Wales is the subject of debate, with a feeling that the strongholds of the game in the Valleys communities have been disenfranchised.
“The images captured by Max will no doubt provide a vivid documentation of these issues. I am certain that the Pontypridd supporters will offer him a warm welcome to their midst on Friday evening.”
