Gavin Henson is not expected to make an appearance at Sardis Road on Boxing Day, but what can be guaranteed is a blood and thunder derby fixture between two traditionally rivalled clubs. A game that sells itself - simply because it's Ponty v Cardiff.
The resurrection of a festive sporting tradition is expected to bring with it a bumper crowd at the House of Pain. Supporters are invited to make a day of it, to work off the excesses of Christmas by making the trip to Sardis to see a cracker of a game played out in the highly charged atmosphere generated by real rugby.
Supporters are also invited to bring along family and friends and to deck themselves out in seasonal attire in celebration of the event. A warm welcome will be guaranteed.
The Ponty Clubhouse will be open for business from 12 noon onwards. The appeal goes out to turn up early to avoid congestion on the gates prior to the 2:30pm kick off.
Make a day of it at Sardis and enjoy the occasion. The Boxing Day rugby bonanza - its a case of history repeating itself and most definitely not to be missed.
