Here at the Cannon & Smith Law Practice, we are experts in our field. We practice in matters concerning family and matrimonial law only. As a result, we pride ourselves in tailoring our approach to apply our expertise to suit you, as an individual.
We appreciate that you may only need us in difficult times and therefore not only will we give you advice to protect, you, your family and your assets but we will also provide you with the support that you require.
In matters concerning divorce, civil partnership, co-habitation and finances, we have extensive experience. We have dealt with a spectrum of cases, each with different circumstances. Some of our cases have involved high net worth assets and also agricultural matters, to include family farms and inheritance. In comparison, we have also helped those starting out in life to set up a "living together agreement" when purchasing their first home.
Our expertise does not stop there, we are also experts in the law concerning children. Recently, we have seen an increase in grandparents requesting to see children following the breakdown of their children's marriage. Unfortunately, it's quite often the case that a grandparent will lose contact with the children as well as the non-resident parent. It does not have to be this way and we can offer advice and solutions in this area.
We can also help couples plan for the future just in case things go wrong. Very often, we hear clients say, "If only I knew that I could do something beforehand". Hindsight is of course a wonderful thing. However, we can put provisions in place that will help parties to feel confident about their finances and their futures and provide a framework if relationships do break down.
So why choose us?
Well we think the answer is simple...
Above all, we really do care…
Don't take our word for it phone us for a complimentary interview to find out for yourself…

Edwards coach tours has operated in South Wales since 1925.
The first coach or "charabanc" as they were commonly
known, was a 1920 Spa.
During the next 20 years or so, the company's main
source of income was the "local bus service" into the
market town of Pontypridd. Business increased as the nearby
Treforest Industrial Estate expanded, where many factory workers
were transported to work and also to the munitions factory at
Bridgend during the Second World War by Edwards Coaches.
The fifties and sixties brought new ambitions for the company and
indeed its clients. Edwards Luxury coaches boasted a heater and
radio, travelled from all over the South Wales Valleys to popular
holiday destinations, such as London, Blackpool, Bath and
Stratford. During the early sixties the company organised tours as
far afield as Paris, Belgium and Austria.
Since those early days, Edwards has expanded progressively. We now
operate a fleet of over 100 buses and coaches from our operating
centre at Pontypridd, employing 150 personnel. Last year we carried
over 5,000 students to school each day and provided over 50,000
clients with our own customised package holidays. We also undertake
day excursions and transfers for numerous organisations.

Would it amaze you if we said it takes around 2,300 people
at 9 major UK and Ireland sites to produce and support our leading
brands? Well, it's true. From our Head Office in Luton to our
additional 8 main sites across England, Ireland, Scotland and
Wales, its clear to see that we put a lot more into our beers than
just yeast, malt and hops.
In the UK alone, we brew, distribute and market a vast portfolio of
ales, stouts, bitters and lagers and much of our business is
generated by the on-trade industry, which includes pubs, clubs,
bars, restaurants, hotels and entertainment venues – so pretty much
any establishment licensed to sell alcohol on the premises. In
addition being number one in the take home sector means our brands
are sold through off-licences, cash and carry outlets, wholesalers
and almost every major supermarket.
A list of our UK top-sellers reads like a "Who's
who?" of the nation's best-loved brands. We market an
unrivalled range including the No 1 premium lager* Stella Artois,
and Stella Artois 4% (the most successful beer launch of the last
10 years**). Our range also includes Beck’s, Brahma, Budweiser,
Tennent's Lager and ale brands Bass Ale and Boddingtons. We
also have a leading speciality beer portfolio with world renowned
brands Hoegaarden and Leffe.

British beer lovers brewing beer for British beer
lovers.
Englishman William Worthington began brewing in Burton on Trent
in 1744 and his fellow countryman William Bass started brewing in
the town in 1777.
Devoted to bringing the world great
beer.
Burton brewers saw the potential for beer brewing as a global
business, dispatching British ales to St. Petersburg, Russia, the
Baltics, and North America. In 1877, four years after the Adolph
Coors Company had set up shop across the Atlantic, the Bass brewery
was turning out more than a million barrels a year.
Turning the science of brewing into an
art.
In 1926, the Bass and Worthington breweries merged to create
Bass Brewers. In 1954, Bass Brewers launched Carling Black Label,
the beer that would eventually become the U.K.'s best selling
beer brand. In 1998, Carling Black Label was reintroduced as simply
Carling.
A global brewer with a global commitment to
quality.
The company is the U.K.’s second largest brewer and its
portfolio of brands includes the best selling Carling, Coors Light
and Worthington’s. Molson Coors UK owns three brewing facilities
and employs 2,300 in the U.K.

Pontypridd is set to benefit from its largest cash injection
thanks to Rhondda Cynon Taf Council.
By securing a financial package of £10.5million from the Welsh
Assembly Government through the European Regional Development Fund
and Targeted Match Funding, plus the Council’s own financial
resources and private sector, the regeneration of the town centre
is about to begin.
The funding will support a major remodelling of the street
scene in and around Taff Street, High Street, Market Street, Church
Street and Mill Street. It will also support grants to private
sector property owners to carry our high quality improvements to
the internal and external parts of their business
premises.
The news comes following a succession of positive changes to
Pontypridd. A new traffic scheme for the town centre that removes
vehicles from Taff Street during its busiest periods attracts even
more ardent shoppers to the town who continually enjoy the hustle
and bustle atmosphere of the main thoroughfare.
The introduction of a multi-million pound car park development
at St Catherine’s Corner included in the landmark building Ty
Pennant, further emphasises the confidence businesses have to
invest in the town’s future. The Council has also approved a
planning application for a major Sainsburys store to open on the
site of the former Brown Lenox chainworks.
While retailers offer a wide variety of goods for the potential
customer, shoppers also have the opportunity to relax in one of the
town’s many high-class restaurants, bars and cafes.
Traditionally Pontypridd has enjoyed a rich cultural history.
As the birthplace of the Welsh National Anthem, this tradition has
continued to prosper with live music venues such as the Muni Arts
Centre attracting audiences far and wide.
One of the major “jewels” in the Ponty crown is Ynysangharad
War Memorial Park, set on the banks of the famous River Taff. The
Park has become one of the country’s top concert venues, attracting
a whole host of international performers including the Sugababes,
Rhydian and the town’s own home grown superstars The Lost Prophets
and Sir Tom Jones.

Established in 1965, the World of Groggs had a somewhat
humble beginning. In what was first a desperate attempt to escape
the rat race, founder John Hughes entered the world of ceramics via
a back garden shed, and the first of the Groggs were born. From
this makeshift studio came an army of weird and wonderful creations
– mythical creatures from Welsh legend, small animal caricatures
and ashtrays, along with the now unmistakable sporting ‘Uglies’,
clay rugby figures which would become the template for the
future.
With the increasing success of Welsh rugby, a shed was no longer
enough to sustain this developing ceramic community. The World of
Groggs was growing fast and needed a suitable home. The derelict
Dan-y-Graig pub on the Broadway in Pontypridd provided the space
and location for the Groggs to flourish and became a permanent base
in 1971. The building was converted, painted in Welsh colours and
given a name. The Groggshop gallery and studio had begun.
The following years saw the tradition of the Groggs develop into a
family legacy. After choosing a career in ceramics over further
education, Richard and Cathy followed their father into the
business. Combining talent and years of paternal encouragement,
Richard joined forces with John to keep the Grogg Hall of Fame
growing ever faster. As Welsh rugby entered the Golden Era, the
World of Groggs followed, celebrating the Welsh team with figures
of Wales’ sporting heroes, including Gareth, Barry, Gerald, Phil,
JPR, Mervyn and the legendary Pontypool Front Row. This won the
Groggs global recognition, not to mention a few famous fans! The
list of supporters has become even bigger since, with a legion of
avid collectors and an array of household names who love being a
part of the World of Groggs’ heritage
Over time, the range at the Groggshop has grown to encompass many
different subjects. These include sporting heroes, stars of the
film and music world, humorous animals and professional characters.
Also, a nod towards Welsh history; representations of the famous
dragon and a reminder of our industrial past in the Land of My
Fathers Collection. These figures, depicting traditional colliers
from a bygone era, are true to life and were modelled on the
coal-mining ancestors of the Hughes family. The Grogg family is
steadily increasing every year to include more old favourites and
the stars of tomorrow, but the World of Groggs keeps its focus
firmly on creating highly collectible pieces of outstanding quality
and workmanship. Customers can be assured that every figure has
been individually designed, created and made in Wales and the low
production increases the product’s desirability and value.
Despite boasting an excellent worldwide mail order service, the
Hughes family love collectors, new customers and tourists to visit
the Grogg Shop itself. Here one can view the full collection of
figures along with the museum, a monument to Grogg history spanning
the shop’s 40-year establishment. A vast range of treasured
memorabilia can be found here, including shirts, socks and boots of
rugby and soccer stars alongside the famous autograph wall where
many famous visitors have left their mark. Photographs of
personalities with their prized figures can be seen at every turn,
making the World of Groggs a must-see for any Grogg fan. There is
always a warm welcome waiting for visitors, along with the
opportunity to chat about your favourite Groggs!
