The final round of qualification games in Pool D of the British & Irish Cup, played on Saturday 6th March, saw Doncaster Knights affirm their status as leaders of the pack.
Following on from their bonus point win away at Pontypridd midweek, Doncaster edged the Yorkshire derby, with another bonus point away win at Rotherham Titans by 22pts to 32.
Pontypridd, fielding a depleted side at Birmingham & Solihull, again proved their mettle by fighting back from a 21pts to 15 interval deficit to claim victory by 24pts to 27. Having won only two of their qualifying games, Ponty finished a disappointing fifth in the pool.
Cardiff finished on a high, securing a bonus point home win against Ayr by 30pts to 27.
Throughout all four qualifying pools, no Welsh teams managed to progress to the knock out stages of the competition.
