All to play for at the season's end

The east wind drove a chill blast through Sardis Road on Saturday 28th April, but the 3,000 hardy souls who were gathered there were warmed by an enthralling rugby contest between two fully committed teams.

Pontypridd took on and eventually defeated Llandovery by 20pts to 0 to claim the Principality Premiership title. The match was physical, exciting and keenly contested, another prime example of the high standards set in the Premiership this season.

Unfortunately the TV cameras were not there to capture the event.

Having topped the Premiership table for a second year running, Pontypridd will have to wait for an opportunity to claim the silverware, which will be allocated to the winners of the Grand Play-Off Final on Friday 18th May.

Ponty have earned home advantage in that game, against the winners of the semi final tie between Llanelli and Aberavon, to be played on Saturday 12th May.

The season is drawing to a close for Pontypridd, but there are two massive games still to come.

Going for double glory, Ponty face Cross Keys in the SWALEC Cup Final at the Millennium stadium on Monday 7th May, and Llanelli or Aberavon in the Premiership Grand Play-Off Final at Sardis Road on Friday 18th May.

All to play for? We certainly think so!
